Weight loss. Ugh. This is one of the touchiest subjects out there. There are so many tips, tricks, hacks and fool proof ways to lose weight, it gets overwhelming trying to find something that will work. That’s why I’m going to make this section of the blog a little different.
First of all, I’m not going to tell you how to lose weight. I’m not even going to tell myself how to lose weight. I’m so completely over that goal, I cringe just thinking about it.
Prior to my wreck in 2017, I spent the better part of three years in intense fitness model training. It was so challenging, but it was also so much fun. I looked great, yes, but by the end of the three years, I felt so good about myself! I was strong – physically and mentally – and learned so many valuable lessons.
Because of all of the things associated with the wreck, I’ve lost all of my muscle tone and I get breathless walking to my car! We chuckle, but it’s true. I’m ready to be done with feeling like that, so here we are.
For this part of the blog (and my life) I don’t necessarily want to focus on weight loss. Instead, I want to focus on feeling stronger and more healthy. I’m not going to subscribe to any particular eating plan. I’m not even going to buy a scale. I just want to feed my body well and get back to feeling energetic and powerful.
But here’s the thing, as I said in a previous post about every other part of my life right now, I have no idea what this will look like. I will, quite literally, be making it up as I go along. The tentative plan is to stay mostly vegetarian, especially during the day, and stay away from carbs at night. I’m not going strictly veg yet, but I’m not opposed to seeing if my body responds well and making it a lifestyle later down the road. Maybe. Again, I don’t really know. I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but this time around is more about “intuitive eating”- staying in tune with what my body needs and nourishing it accordingly.
*Side note – I feel a little silly saying “intuitive eating”. When I first heard the term, I brushed it off, but it has stayed with me. Since I’ve tried everything else, I am now going to explore it and see what happens.*
Despite the fact that this may be super awkward for a little while, I thought I’d share my journey with y’all – the workouts, the recipes, the wins and the losses. All of it. Right here, on this page.
Soooo… I’m ready if you’re ready!
P.S. I will try to share as many recipes and workouts as I can on the blog, but come follow me on Instagram for all the details!
