Hey!! Right after the wreck I asked y’all if you were interested in a series that teaches you how to get a blog started. Your response was overwhelming! So welcome to the first post of a brand new series, The Beauty of Blogging. In this series we will breakdown building a blog into a step-by-step process with each post dedicated to one step. If you have ever had a inkling to start a blog and haven’t because of this or that reason, this series is for you!
Before we start let me tell you the story of how I started blogging.
In 2010, after a family tragedy, I had an overwhelming urge to start a blog focused on how we were coping in real life. It was so hard for me to be so raw, but I desperately wanted to use our story to help others.
Fast forward to 2015. One day I was talking to a friend of mine about her blog. During the course of our conversation I mentioned that I had had a blog several years before for a short time. The moment I said that, my friend immediately insisted that I pick it up again. I shrugged her off but she persisted. She connected me to an incredible team of talented people and they began to help me build faithandbling.com.
Three years later, here we are!
I have watched faithandbling evolve into what it is today. This blog and I have been through so much together and in many ways it has become my best friend. I know that may sound strange, but it’s true.
When I started I had no idea what my message was. I just knew I had to write. The more I wrote, the more I began to realize that the purpose of this blog is to communicate the message of Christ’s love for His girls. I wanted to convey His fervent desire to see women realize the beauty that they posses within them.
For me, blogging has been a journey full of ups and downs. There have been times where I published a new post every single day and other times where I was doing good to post once a month. It’s been a wonderful hobby that has now become a full time gig.
In the last three years, I have experienced so many emotions, I have had every single excuse not to write and have had to get over myself more times than I can count. I tell you that only to let you know that I totally get why you haven’t started one yet. I also say that to insist that you do it despite your reasons of why you shouldn’t. Will you also allow me the privilege to come alongside you and help? If so, I would definitely be honored!
So, my friend… are you ready? Let’s do this!
